Shot in 1980,Somewhere in time did arouse the heart-piercing pathos and meaningful reflection of the spectators like me with its more incredible plots and gorgeous background music."Is it you?" Elise blurted out these words at the sight of Richard.She spent whole her life looking for the shadow that usurped her deepest mind. And in deed, she paid and suffered a lot for this flickering romance. At the opening scence of this film, the aged but graceful lady kept gazing at her unlikely lover,musing.Then she walked towards vigorously young Richard, putting the watch into his hand, uttering with condensed strength and sweet sorrow: come back to me.This scence did sting my heart. I knew it was merely a drama and whimsy, but it still stole some of my emotion. somewhere in time, time bid no return,but time could travel and love could transcend any borderline without any bondage. I do believe that, sure, only in this kind of make-believe film. we love to see this classical romance because there is love that lasts forever which would never be for real, isn't it. It's ironic that many lonely men and women are willing to be deceived by this kind of illusion and fairy tale because we do need this amazing pain-killer.like Liang and Zhu, they turned to butterflies ,that's the most sublime and reasonable ending. it proves their permanent loyalty and commitment in each other.It's great.Incredible but reassuring.
