Confessional Poetry: It’s the poetic trend features the excruciatingly frank poetical expression which deals with the sex, the violence, the suicidal impulse, the taboo topics we try to avoid and personal contamination we try to cover. In one word , it’s a kind of ruthless exposure of private life in the tone of “I’ll tell you all”. :em25:Whimsical? Right.I think so. There are few people willing to disclose the personal secrets and unpleasant memory. However, confessionalists take delight in the self-torture. In my opinion, maybe through this kind of confessional output and self-examination, they are able to transcend the worrisome predicament or the thorny difficulty. But some poetesses don’t prove the case. e.g. Sylvia Plath finally commits suicide because she fails to come to terms with the trivial life and emotional despair that excruciate her. What a pity! :em219:Although Confessionalism is a short-span literary movement, yet its effect immortally lingers on the later generation. I truly revere those literary pioneers of innovative ideas, sober-minded courage to resist the dominate code, the prevalent mainstream culture, their achievement, whether outstanding or obscure, will be stamped in the history. I am feeble to attempt more endeavors in the literature, however, I have the transient passion for tracing their footprints and appreciating their wonder, it’s worthwhile of life-long remembrance.:em211::em211::em211
