I love watching travelogues, and the guides leading the camera to every worthwhile site. Inserted with the poetic introduction and wondrous experience, each travelogue never fails to grip your attention and arouse your deep-yearning for traveling and roaming.

In CCTV-9, I have a crush for two anchors of Travelogue, one is Yanling, a lively, energetic, brilliant enthusiast for traveling. She is slim and charming, often dressing in bohemian garments, wearing stylish sun-glasses and consistently sincere smile. Judging from fluent English and original narration, I think she must have study overseas. It could be felt there is different blood boiling inside her, passion for challenge, fearlessness when confronting hostile environment. Sometimes, I think she is very much French in her bone. Deeply romantic and not artificial at all.

Chen Lei is the other anchor who appeals to me. This guy is funny. Wherever he goes, he could blend with the different culture and custom effortlessly. He has many amazing impromptus, like disguising as a statue, diving into the deep sea for adventure, dancing wildly etc. He strikes me as an amusing performer and actor.

It’s true that to be a competent TV tour guide, one must be expert in either the performance or acting. They need 100% courage to experience all sorts of unexpected and astounding challenge plus 120% stamina to withstand all hostile weather or environment plus 150% confidence to present him/herself as a flawless commentator plus 200 positive attitude to turn each awful experience into enjoyable show.

Today, I spot another cool guy—Ian Wright in DISCOVERY CHANNEL, very glamorous and humorous. I can’t cay how much fun he brings to every program; he is really skillful at playing tricks, making face, inventing some scenarios. And I believe he takes delight in his journey spontaneously. It’s the born and liberate-minded adventurer that can savor and embrace every beauty on the road and interpret diversified culture of different places. Today, I watched the documentary shot in Hungary and Romania, his performance and fun is really impressive.

"Every single country you go to just blows your mind! You know with this job you always get five months condensed in three weeks! The final program gives you a splash of colors, a smell of the country, and that's where its success is I think."

I know why I am so obsessed with those anchors, not because they are adventurous and fun and eloquent and creative, but because they are going somewhere I am always dreaming of but may never reach.
