Dear You Chengcheng—
I hope these few weeks we’ve worked together have been as rewarding for you as they have been for me.
I also hope you will go on exploring the issue of closed endings vs. open ones. The world is so full of answers without ever having asked the questions properly.
I wish we had more time to spare together. Your life experience, your perceptions about literature, your analytical and creative abilities, the kinds of questions you raise about reading and life and psychology-all of these are endlessly fascinating to me and I always want to know more about what you are thinking.
I’m assuming that our contact will go on and on. Let me know about any help I can give you. Let me know about your work, your thoughts, your dreams, your feelings-everything.
Best wishes for your work and thanks for making my visit to Guangzhou a very rich experience.
